Dolly Parton fans are calling for her to be president after watching her documentary which has recently been added to Netflix.

Dolly Parton - Here I Am is a feature-length documentary film all about the life and achievements of Dolly, 74, chronicling her greatest songs and how she became one of the most incredible songwriters and performers ever.

For the first time, Dolly's musicians, co-writers and producers speak on camera about her life, with the doc - which originally aired on BBC - offering unprecedented access into both her personal life and her career.

Dolly personally takes viewers though some of her greatest songs including: 'The Bridge', 'I Will Always Love You' and '9 to 5'.

Cameras also capture the 50th anniversary of her first performance in Nashville, with archived footage showing that very performance all those years ago.

Dolly's music producers also make an appearance, including Linda Perry, Kent Wells and Val Garay, and band members: Jerry Douglas, Carl Jackson, Charlie McCoy, Eddy Anderson, Lloyd Green, Mike Severs, Hargus 'Pig' Robbins and Stuart Duncan.

The doc is also produced by Bafta-winning producer and director, Francis Whately - so it makes sense that fans are raving about it on Twitter, with some even calling for Dolly to be president.

One wrote: "Watching the Dolly Parton thing on Netflix and wondering why she is not president."

While another said: "Why can't I live in the timeline where Dolly Parton is President?"

One simply added: "Dolly Parton for president."

"I mean we can just elect Dolly Parton as President?", wrote another.

One even tweeted: "The only thing that could ever get me to vote again is Dolly Parton running for president."

In the past, Dolly has even joked about running for president - which is promising, right?!

Back in 2016, before Donald Trump was elected, Dolly told the New York Times: "I think Hillary's very qualified. So if she gets it, I'll certainly be behind her."

Later, she posted a statement to clarify. She said: "This morning while I was watching the news I saw many reports that I had endorsed Hillary Clinton.

"My comment about supporting a woman in the White House was taken out of context. I have not endorsed Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump.

"I try not to get political but if I am, I might as well just run myself 'cause I've got the hair for it, it's huge, and they could always use more boobs in the race. But seriously, I have not decided who I'm voting for, but no matter what we're gonna be suffering from PMS, Presidential Mood Swings."

Maybe one day, eh?
