Details about the second series of Dirty John have now been revealed, and it sounds as sordid as the last.
The first series - based on the true story of sociopath John Meehan and his victim Debra Newell - earned a cult following as it landed on Netflix, and so news that a second had been commissioned sent fans wild back in February.
The second offering - produced by Herzog & Co and Los Angeles Times Studios - will follow a completely different "self-contained" storyline to the first.

This series will follow a similar theme, showing a love story which goes disastrously wrong.
This time, it will be named Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, and focus on the divorce of Betty and Dan Broderick, which (*spoiler alert*) famously ended with Betty killing both Dan and his second wife Linda.
Betty and Dan will be played by The Whole Nine Yards actress Amanda Peet and Mr Robots star Christian Slater.

The show will chronicle their relationship and its following breakdown, which spanned over 20 years in total.
Meeting and falling love in college, it all looked rosy for Betty and Dan at first, and they went on to marry and have five children together.
At first, Amanda will depict Betty as "the perfect Southern California blonde wife and mother," while Christian will play hot shot San Diego lawyer Dan.

However, as Dan's career skyrocketed things soon turned sour, resulting in the double murder which led to Betty being sentenced to 32 years behind bars. Yikes.
The first series was based on the Los Angeles Times podcast of the same name, which followed the real life story of the conman, known as 'Dirty John' to his friends.
The series' creator Alexandra Cunningham, who also conceived and wrote season one, said: "The first season of Dirty John was a story of twisted love and coercive control, and both these insidious elements are also present in and integral to the story of Betty Broderick, whom I have wanted to write about since I became a writer."

She added: "I can't wait to see Amanda and Christian bring it to life".
We'll leave the series to inform you how that one unfolds....
Dirty John is set to air on USA Network in 2020, meaning we can expect it on Netflix shortly afterwards.
One thing is for sure, it certainly sounds as messy as the first season.
