Dead To Me, a dark yet hilarious TV show came into our lives unexpectedly and it was the show we never knew we needed but instantly adored.

With just ten 30 minute episodes, the black comedy that centres around two widowed women, highly strung and hilarious Jen and free-spirited Judy, who meet at a grief support group, is one to binge on.

Twists come at every turn keeping you gripped, so it was no surprise when the Netflix series, starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini was confirmed for a second season.

When will Dead To Me Season 2 drop on Netflix?

Although unconfirmed just yet, judging that Season 1 took just over a year from announcement to arrival, we guess Season 2 will land in late spring in 2020, as it was confirmed in May 2019.

Not long to wait now...

Who is returning for Season 2 of Dead To Me?

Season 2 has been confirmed without a release date, but we're expecting it to drop in spring 2020. (

The show's main stars, Christina (Jen) and Linda (Judy) will be returning. We're pleased to hear it too because we're not sure how this show would work without their friendship that's built around grief and guilt.

The fact that (spolier alert) they are still talking after Jen finds out Linda is her husband's hit and run killer is interesting enough of a storyline in itself.

They aren't the only two to reprise their roles though, because Max Jenkins returns as Jen's real estate partner, Christoper, Luke Roessler will return as Jen's younger son Henry, Sam McCarthy as Jen's eldest son, Brandon Scott as police officer Nick and Ed Asner as Abe.

Naturally, we don't think Steve (James Marsden), Judy's ex-fiance will return given that (spolier alert), Jen shot him at the end of the season finale. At least the women are sort of even now, right?

In Season 1, the two ladies meet at a grief support group and soon bond, but one has a dark secret. (

Series creator Liz Feldman has hinted that maybe Jen wasn't the one who pulled the trigger after all though, telling Hollywood Reporter in May 2019: "I'll just say that you don't know that she shot him". Interesting.

Maybe Judy finally had the guts to stand up to who we think is an emotionally abusive ex-partner who gaslighted her, never seemed to apologise and chose to end the relationship when they couldn't have children. Not a great guy, turns out.

What will Dead To Me Season 2 be about?

We imagine, the show will continue to explore the ladies' dark and to be honest, twisted friendship.

We assume Jen will forgive Judy for killing her husband Ted, especially since she's now supposedly pulled the trigger on Judy's ex-partner.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Liz said: "What I wanted to do was create a situation where they're forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season 1."

And in another interview with Hollywood Reporter she added: "This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship.

"So suffice to say, there will be more darkness."

Did Judy definitely kill Jen's husband in Season 1 of Dead To Me?

Towards the end of Season 1 we see Judy walking out in front of cars, on the same road where she thinks she ran down Ted and left him for dead.

But what we see happen is, all the cars Judy walks out in front of manage to swerve and avoid her.

We see Judy walking in front of cars in season 1 to see how hard it is to be hit, leading viewers wondering if there was more to Ted's death than first thought. (

It's all very odd. Was there more to it than we think? Plus, we learn in the show that Jen knew Ted was cheating on her, so he did have an enemy in his own wife too. Did she give him a helping hand into the road?

Will there be more seasons of Dead To Me in future?

As long as Season 2 goes well, we think this show will continue until viewers are done with it. Liz Feldman is keen to let it run for as long as possible.

She told Hollywood Reporter: "It would be the pleasure and honor of my life to do this show for as many seasons as makes sense. I would do this show forever if I could."

Pleased to hear it, Liz.
