The full trailer for Dead To Me 2 is here, and it picks up right after that dramatic season finale of season one.

If you need a reminder, the show, created by Liz Feldman, ended with Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) standing over the swimming pool, where Steve (James Marsden) had seemingly been shot.

And while Judy's ex was fictionally dead for much of season one, it looks as if he is now very much deceased IRL, as they spend much of the trailer frantically trying to cover up his bloody shooting.

The trailer begins with Steve floating upside down in a pool, and both women staring down at him.

"We'll have to call the police," Judy says.

However, Jen is having none of it.

"How's it going to look if I go to the cops, Steve killed my husband. My boys can't lose me," she protests. "No one can ever know what happened."

In scenes that follow, we then see Jen scrubbing away at the floor with bleach, covering up the swimming pool with its plastic casing and even suggesting dissolving Steve's body in acid as she examines shelves of chemicals.

But the detectives are very much on their case, and it doesn't look like they're the only ones.

Later in the trailer, we see that someone has even scrawled "I know what you did" on Jen's garage door.

But who has caught on to them? And will the pair manage to cover their tracks?

"The FBI are good at connecting dots," Jen says. "And we are the f*****g dots."

When the cast were filming the second series of Dead To Me, fans went wild after spotting James Marsden back on set.

Many thought his character Steve may still be alive, but after the latest trailer it seems safe to assume he was simply filming flashback scenes, or taunting one or both of the women in their heads.

Also reprising their roles are Max Jenkins as Jen's real estate partner Christoper, Luke Roessler as Jen's younger son Henry, Sam McCarthy as Jen's eldest son, Brandon Scott as police officer Nick and Ed Asner as Abe.

Season one saw Jen and Judy forge an unlikely friendship despite their different approaches to grief. However, Judy harboured a dark secret: she was involved in the death of Jen's husband, and her own partner, Steve, wasn't really dead.

Naturally, the pair's friendship looked like it was beyond repair when Jen found out the truth about Judy's involvement in her husband's death.

But the latest season shows them back together once more, whether they like it or not.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the show's writer Liz Feldman said: "What I wanted to do was create a situation where they're forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season 1."

And in another interview with Hollywood Reporter, she added: "This show will always be a show that explores the dark sides and the light sides of grief, loss, forgiveness and friendship.

"So suffice to say, there will be more darkness."

Dead To Me 2 hits Netflix next Friday, May 8th.
