In the most unlikely and yet simultaneously dreamy collab we've ever seen, David Attenborough and rapper Dave are officially working together on a new project.

Airing later this summer, the duo are joining forces to work on a documentary special for BBC's Planet Earth, centring around animals who have overcome adversity.

Named Planet Earth: A Celebration, the doc is being created to "lift people's spirits" following a "time of international uncertainty", and will show animals surviving and thriving in some of the world's most challenging environments - offering a message of hope to humanity".

It will also look back at some of the most beautiful moments from Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II, and reimagine them through this lens.

Dave will be offering his musical expertise to the show, with the help of composer Hans Zimmer - who will be has reworking the original score and adding new compositions - and the BBC concert orchestra.

The rapper will be taking to the grand piano to create some beautiful music to accompany the footage, while Sir David will be narrating the project (because, of course he is).

Speaking on the upcoming project, chart-topper Dave - David Omoregie - said: "I've always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries.

"This is a programme where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer."

There are too many iconic moments from Planet Earth to look back on, and fans will be wondering which will be thrust into the spotlight again in the new documentary.

While the BBC are keeping tight lipped for the most part, they did reveal that one such moment will be the moment an octopus goes head-to-head with a shark, and miraculously survives by almost suffocating the predator to death.

This is the Dave collab we didn't know we needed.

Planet Earth: A Celebration will air at the end of August.
