With everything a bit gloomy at the moment, we think it's about time for a Netflix Christmas rom-com.
But if the recently launched Holidate left you wanting more, we've found a series which could be the answer.
Dash And Lily is an upcoming, 8-episode rom-com series starring Austin Abrams from Euphoria and Midori Francis. It's a yuletide teen romance based on a bestselling book series by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn.
The official description from Netflix reads: "Opposites attract at Christmas as cynical Dash (Austin Abrams) and sunny Lily (Midori Francis) trade messages and dares in a red notebook they pass back and forth around New York City."

The series looks like it will be a love letter to New York, with filming having taken place around the Big Apple pre pandemic.
Fans of the original book series were certainly happy and surprised about the prospect of a full TV series. One wait wrote: "THERE'S GOING TO BE A DASH AND LILY TV SERIES?!?!" and followed up the thread with "one of my all time faves. Not sure I can cope. I was not ready for this news!!!"

Another fan replied: "OMG!!! I thought it was just a movie".
Another excited fan was ready for the nostalgia feels: "Netflix is coming out with a movie of Dash and Lily's Book of Dares!!! My YA self is screamingggggg".

A more sombre and somewhat reflective reaction to Netflix's Christmassy rom-coms came from another fan: "Can't wait to watch Holidate and Dash & Lily and lament another holiday season spent alone".
Bleak... but oh so relatable.
