Disney's latest live-action prequel, Cruella, will premiere on Disney+ this year, it has been confirmed.
The movie, which stars Emma Stone as villainess Cruella de Vil, will be heading straight to the platform, as well as being released in cinemas.
Chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment distribution Kareem Daniel, explained the decision "reflects our focus on providing consumer choice and serving the evolving preferences of audiences.

"By leveraging a flexible distribution strategy in a dynamic marketplace that is beginning to recover from the global pandemic, we will continue to employ the best options to deliver The Walt Disney Company's unparalleled storytelling to fans and families around the world," he said.
Last month, Disney released a trailer for the movie - which is a prequel to 101 Dalmatians. You can watch it below:
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of Emma Stone as Cruella, with the iconic black and white hair.

"From the very beginning I realised I saw the world differently to everyone else," we hear her explain.
"That didn't sit well with some people. But I wasn't for everyone. I guess they were always scared that I'd be... a psycho."
The teaser goes on to show Cruella in the years prior to becoming the puppy-stealing villain she is today. The movie - which is expected to be released in the UK on 28th May - is set in the 1970s, and tells the story of Cruella before she decides upon a life of crime.
Meanwhile, Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, is also set to be released on Disney+ at the same time it airs in theatres, however it has been pushed back by two months in the US, from 7th May to 9th July.

Disney+ is priced at £7.99 per month, or £79.90 annually. However, both films are expected to be shown on Premier Access, which means an additional fee would need to be paid.
