Contagion is officially getting a sequel, because we really need some more pandemic content in our lives RN.
The Steven Soderbergh movie, which centres around a deadly virus, launched back in 2011 and starred none other than Gwyneth Paltrow.
But it had a resurgence of popularity back in March, when it aired on ITV bang in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast recently, the writer and director teased that another 'philosophical sequel' could be in the works.
"I've got a project in development that Scott Burns is working with me on, that's a kind of philosophical sequel to Contagion but in a different context," Soderbergh said.
"You'll kind of look at the two of them as kind of paired but very different hair colours. So, Scott and I had been talking about, 'So, what's the next iteration of a Contagion-type story?' We have been working on that.

"We should probably hotfoot it a little bit."
Speaking about the recent reaction to the first movie in the wake of the real life pandemic, Soderbergh added: "People will say to me, 'This is uncanny how similar it is.'
"And I don't find it to be that surprising, because the scientists I spoke to, and there were a lot of them, all said that this was a matter of when, not if."

As well as Gwyneth, the first film also starred big names including Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Jude Law and Kate Winslet.
Soderbergh and screenwriter Scott Z. Burns were inspired by the SARS and Swine Flu outbreaks and even consulted with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help portray a more accurate picture of what might be.
So, it might feel eerily familiar...
