Film fans have been a buzz since the trailer for A Quiet Place: Part II dropped on New Year's Day.

And while many are excited for its March release, others have admitted that they have been pleasantly distracted by Cillian Murphy's rather rugged look in the upcoming feature.

The first look at John Krasinski's horror sequel is creepy AF as Emily Blunt reprises her role of Evelyn Abbott, alongside her children: deaf daughter Regan, older son Marcus and a newborn baby.

The flick follows the Abbott family as they discover they're not the only humans still alive in the post-apocalyptic world and will answer more questions about where the terrifying killer beasts have come from.

The trailer also shows a flashback to the moment the creatures invaded Earth as Evelyn drives her children through town.

While there's thrills, spills and heart-stopping moments in the trailer, movie-lovers have been gripped by Cillian Murphy's complete transformation from slick Thomas Shelby to bearded human survivor.

The 43-year-old's unnamed character is described: "as an enigmatic traveller whose intentions come into question when he crosses paths with the Abbotts".

In the trailer, we meet the Irish actor's character as he saves the Abbotts from the terrifying creatures when Evelyn accidentally triggers a trap.

Proving to be a chameleon on screen, Cillian swaps his dapper three-piece suits and sleek Peaky Blinders 'do for a bushy beard, long coif and a rather dirty white T-shirt as he asks: "I don't know why you came over here? There's nothing left."

His character is then seen residing in a bunker with the Abbotts before we're given a stream of action-packed scenes cut together of him running through a housing estate and empty-car strewn bridge.

As Evelyn pleads with his character to save humanity, Cillian utters in a strong American drawl: "The people that are left, aren't the kind of people worth saving."

He's a long way from Birmingham and the Shelbys now.

His epic transformation from the BBC period drama and new horror flick hasn't gone unnoticed as fans have taken to Twitter to weigh-in on it.

One fan shared four shots of the actor's most notable roles; Peaky Blinders, Peacock and Broken, alongside his upcoming feature.

Captioning the post, the social media user wrote: "cillian murphy better stop being so versatile otherwise we're gonna have to cast him in every movie ever" (sic).

"Bearded, tattooed, rugged cillian murphy in a quiet place part 2 is everything i never knew i needed", (sic) another penned.

We're with you on this one.

Not the only famous face joining the cast for the horror sequel, Cillian is joined on screen alongside Captain Marvel actor Djimon Hounsou, whose character's name is yet to be revealed.
