Back in 2018, Netflix released an unexpected Christmas classic, The Christmas Chronicles, and had us waiting a whole two years until the next instalment.

But now finally, the streamer has teased the first trailer for the movie coming this November - and it looks like it will be every bit worth the wait.

Starring real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as Santa Claus and Mrs Claus, the film follows two children, Kate and Teddy, as they fight to save Christmas.

The new trailer, announced today on Netflix's official Twitter, hints that part two will all be about Mrs. Claus while also giving a release date for the festive flick.

"It's time for Mrs. Claus to get her due. Kurt Russell & @GoldieHawn are back to save the holidays in THE CHRISTMAS CHRONICLES 2, only on Netflix 25 November," the tweet read.

In the trailer, we hear Santa telling the children: "You're in Santa's village, the real one. Mrs Claus designed everything."

Kate retorts: "Well if she designed this place, I think it should be called Mrs Claus's village," to which Santa replied: "Well I'd never thought of that."

The film's first instalment, The Christmas Chronicles, followed "true believers" Kate and Teddy Pierce, who attempted to capture Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.

However, after their plan went awry and they accidentally crashed Santa's sleigh, the sibling duo joined forces with St Nick to get the presents delivered on time - although we all know it wasn't as easy as that.

The plot of the sequel, The Christmas Chronicles 2, will revisit Kate, who is now a disillusioned teenager, and her brother Teddy.

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn will be reprising their roles as Mr and Mrs Claus for the second instalment.

The couple will be joined by Darby Camp and Judah Lewis once again, who played Kate and Teddy Pierce in the first film, while Kimberly Williams Paisley will play their mother Claire one more time.

Joining the cast this time around is Deadpool 2 scene-stealer Julian Dennison, 17, who will play Belsnickel, a magical troublemaker from German folklore who wants to ruin Christmas. The Oath's Jahzir Bruno will also star in the sequel.

The Christmas Chronicles 2 airs on Netflix from 25th November.

Anyone else feeling super festive RN?
