Good news, film fans - Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans are set to star in new Netflix thriller movie, The Gray Man.

The duo will be working with dream team Joe and Anthony Russo (also known as the Russo brothers) who have directed the likes of Captain America and Avengers. With these guys at the helm, we just know it's going to be good.

Netflix reportedly pulled out all the stops to get Ryan and Chris on board - and we're so glad they did.

The Gray Man is based on the books by Mark Greaney (yep, there's more than one - so you know what that could mean!) and tells the story of assassin and former CIA Agent, Court Gentry (played by Ryan) and former colleague, Lloyd Hansen (played by Chris).

Speaking to Deadline, Anthony Russo gave a glimpse of what fans can expect from the plot. He said: "The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do.

"For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That's what this movie really means for us."

But the epic cast and brilliant plot isn't the only good news. The Russo brothers are thinking big with this one and - as the film is based on a bestselling book series - their plan is to create a franchise and "build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the centre".

We're defo on board with this!

While it's still unclear who else will star in the movie, or when production will begin, it's reported that January is looking like the most likely option, beginning in Los Angeles and moving on to other international locations.

Fingers crossed that means it'll be hitting our screens at some point next year...
