We know that everything might seem a little bleak right now. The outbreak of coronavirus is forcing many of us to socially distance or even socially isolate, and the world feels a little confusing and scary.

So, we thought it only fair to make an important public service announcement: Cheapest Weddings is currently trending on Netflix, and it's the perfect binge-worthy reality show to lighten your mood.

Chaotic and oh-so-addictive, the six-part Australian reality show is similar to Don't Tell The Bride, but even messier, and follows a group of engaged couples as they try to pull off their dream weddings on a super-tight budget.

But don't be fooled. This isn't another show that sets out to prove how easy it is be thrifty... quite the opposite.

Instead, expect to be in hysterics at the desperate (and oh so relatable) lengths the couples go to cut costs.

One duo attempts to play their first dance song through their mobile phone to save money on a DJ or sound system, meanwhile another try to orchestrate their own firework display and accidentally set the grass near their reception on fire.

There's the couple that chooses a venue with no electricity, running water or toilets, and hunt for decorations on a landfill site...

Oh, and don't even get us started on the bride who orders her $200 (£102) wedding dress from China only for it to arrive in less than satisfactory condition.

It really is the sort of show you've gotta watch through your hands.

While another added: "I put on a show called Cheapest Weddings on Netflix cos I thought I'd put something shitty to make me go to sleep but I became obsessed with a bride that had 0 things go right for her. It was tragic.".

"My new Netflix binge... cheapest weddings!!! Everyone go watch, thank me later!!," a third wrote.
