Over the last few months, thousands of couples across the UK have been forced to cancel their 2020 weddings due to coronavirus.

But there is one wedding you'll be able to attend. In a new TV show, Hitched at Home: Our Lockdown Wedding, Channel 4 has given one lucky couple the chance to have their big day after all.

The one-off special is hosted by master of ceremonies, First Dates' Fred Sirieix who handpicked one special couple to take part.

Louise, 33 and Patrick, 35 were originally supposed to be having a festival-themed wedding with a staggering 200 guests, set in a quaint orchard. They live in London and had plans to move to the countryside following their outdoor nuptials.

However, with coronavirus lockdown stepping in and putting a halt to all plans, Fred has come to the rescue, working tirelessly around the clock to save the special day.

The couple, who met on Tinder and say they immediately considered each other 'The One', explained they were gutted when they realised their day wouldn't be going ahead.

"It was a weird combination of being truly devastated that all this planning went into it, just for us to think, we've got to cancel it. There was also a lot of guilt within it too, as we know a lot of people had spent money on flights and hotels, which left us thinking - what if they can't get their money back. Then what is going to happen?" said Patrick.

While Louise added: "So if we postponed it, what if these people can't come next year? On top of that, one of my worries is if you push it a year on and during in a pandemic where health and people's health is in question, you worry that some people might not be able to be there next time.

"That's the really devastating part that we try not to think about, but something like a wedding is a chance for families to come together who might not have seen each other for a while"

The show will see Louise and Patrick plan their wedding in just two weeks, before delivering personalised vows in front of family and friends in a virtual wedding ceremony.

Meanwhile, Fred will be working all hours to lay on the best food, decorations and entertainment. He's even got a few celebrity friends he's tapped up to make an appearance on the big day.

And if that wasn't enough, he'll also be organising Louise and Patrick's hen and stag dos! Phew. Looks like Fred could have a career change after all this.

Just like a normal wedding, there'll be music, romance, tears, laughs and speeches - and viewers can join in at home, sharing their well wishes on Twitter using the #C4LockdownWedding hashtag.

Fred said: "They had everything originally in place, but it all got taken away from them. So, I'm working with some of my most trusted colleagues to throw the biggest bash we can in these circumstances.

"I'm working my finger to the bone to organise plenty of surprises for Louise and Patrick and we're going to make it a day they'll never forget. I promise you, you will not want to miss it."

You can watch Hitched at Home: Our Lockdown Wedding on Channel 4 on Monday 1st June at 9pm.

"The day was the most remarkable way to celebrate our commitment to each other and it honestly was better than anything we could wish for. Fred planned a day that we won't forget for the rest of our lives. We can't wait to share it with everyone," said Louise and Patrick.

Dig out your hats and your best party dresses, guys!
