'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Renewed For Seventh Season
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is confirmed to be returning for another season on NBC.
As season six draws to a close, the channel confirmed that a seventh season is most definitely happening, much to delight of fans.
The news was announced to the cast and crew during a meeting yesterday afternoon, and it's fair to say that everyone involved is pretty stoked by the looks of a clip taken of the moment.
"In true #Brooklyn99 fashion, we waited 9 seconds to tell them the good news," the official Twitter account for the show confirmed. "We're coming back, y'all!"
In the video shared to fans, a woman can be heard telling the group: "You know how happy and proud we were to have you on NBC this season and we are even happier to say that we would love to have you back next season."
Those in the room cheer and applause over the announcement, and Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords) jumps up in excitement. Andy Samberg (Detective Jake Peralta) hammers his fists on the table too.
Only last year, Fox cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons and fans truly thought it was the end. Thankfully, the cop comedy was picked up by NBC, and the channel seems keen to keep it going.
"It's been one of our great joys as a network to give Brooklyn Nine-Nine a second life," explained Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming, NBC Entertainment.
"Cheers to Dan Goor, Mike Schur, Luke Del Tredici and David Miner, and our amazing cast and crew who each week turn New York's finest into New York's funniest."
Happy fans reacted to the news on Twitter as it was shared yesterday.
"If you are having a bad day remember: Brooklyn Nine-Nine is back for a 7th season!!!" exclaimed one person.
And another responded: "Brooklyn Nine-Nine renewed for a 7th season lets go!!!"
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine renewed? IT'S A YES FOR ME," enthused a third.
