As season six draws to a close, the channel confirmed that a seventh season is most definitely happening, much to delight of fans.

The news was announced to the cast and crew during a meeting yesterday afternoon, and it's fair to say that everyone involved is pretty stoked by the looks of a clip taken of the moment.

"In true fashion, we waited 9 seconds to tell them the good news," the official Twitter account for the show confirmed. "We're coming back, y'all!"

In the video shared to fans, a woman can be heard telling the group: "You know how happy and proud we were to have you on NBC this season and we are even happier to say that we would love to have you back next season."

Those in the room cheer and applause over the announcement, and Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords) jumps up in excitement. Andy Samberg (Detective Jake Peralta) hammers his fists on the table too.

Only last year, Fox cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine after five seasons and fans truly thought it was the end. Thankfully, the cop comedy was picked up by NBC, and the channel seems keen to keep it going.
