Pregnant out of wedlock and fearful of her parent's reaction, the then-18-year-old told no one about her situation. The child's father was not her boyfriend but someone she had had a fling with the previous summer.
No one knew she was expecting a child except the gynaecologist who told her the news.
Richardson was accused of smashing her new born baby's skull with a rock before burying the baby - who she named Annabelle - in her parents garden, with flowers marking the spot.

The truth only came to light when she went back to the same gynaecologist two months later to get birth control pills and she confessed to what she had done.
Richardson stood trial in September 2019 but was cleared of aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.
She was only found guilty of gross abuse of a corpse and was sentenced to seven days in jail for the charge, but was credited for time already served. Now 20, she is serving three years of probation.
