Whether you're staying in with mates tonight, going out-out or ditching expensive taxis for a night in with a takeaway, we have some good news.

Bridesmaids is airing on ITV2 at 9pm and if you are going to be a bottle of prosecco down by then, fear not - you can always record the movie and watch while nursing a hangover tomorrow.

As every Bridesmaids fan will know, it's the ultimate feel good comedy and we can't wait to revisit the hilarious antics of best friends Annie (Kristen Wiig) and Lillian (Maya Rudolph) - and of course, Megan (Melissa McCarthy).

The 2011 movie focuses on best mate duo Annie and Lillian who end up having a fall out after the latter gets engaged.

At the start of the film, it becomes clear that out-of-work Annie is not in a good place - not only has her lifelong dream of running a successful bakery failed, but her love life is in tatters.

Despite this, cash-strapped Annie puts on a brave face to be Lillian's Maid of Honour and does her best to get involved with the (often expensive) tasks this involves.

The role also sees Annie having to deal with Lillian's new pal and bridesmaid, Helen.

Pristine and wealthy Helen begins to get under Annie's skin and soon the pair are competing for Lillian's friendship.

After a disastrous attempt at a hen do in Las Vegas - in which the party are escorted off the plane after Annie (who has been given sedatives and alcohol to calm her fear of flying) causes a scene mid-flight - Lillian officially hands over the planning to Helen.

With a series of hilarious twists and turns along the way - including an incident in which the bridal party become ill with food poisoning during their dress fitting - the movie also stars Chris O'Dowd, Rebel Wilson, Matt Lucas and Rose Byrne.

If you're looking for more telly to watch over the New Year period, the second season of crime thriller Bancroft returns to ITV on New Year's Day at 9pm.

Love Island will also return to our screens in less than a fortnight, with the winter series kicking off on ITV2 on Sunday, 12th January.
