A young boy with autism who wrote a heartfelt open letter to Anne Hegerty has been praised by viewers after appearing on This Morning.

After watching Anne on The Chase, Joseph Hughes became a huge fan of The Governess and was extremely excited when he saw her in the jungle.

During her first few days in the jungle Anne struggled to cope with the change of environment and opened up about her difficulties with Asperger's to her fellow camp mates.

Joe saw Anne struggling and decided to write a touching letter to encourage her to carry on with the show and to say he wants a cool job like her one day.

Appearing on This Morning today with his mum Kate Jarvis, Joseph spoke to Phil and Rochelle how overwhelmed he was with his new found fame.

The 11-year-old spoke about why he decided to write the letter and how much he likes The Chase star.

Another added: "The little boy is making me cry. It's amazing how @anne_hegerty has inspired him in just two days of @imacelebrity #ThisMorning."

Other viewers praised Joseph for spreading a positive message about people on the autistic spectrum.

One parent who explained that their daughter was also on the autistic spectrum said: Lovely seeing Joseph and his mum on #thismorning.

"His letter was so beautiful and I'm glad @itv ran with it as Anne is highlighting ASD in a positive way! My oldest had ASD & although too young to watch the show it gives me a warm glow knowing he will be able to reach for the stars!"

Another viewer also pointed out that Joseph will definitely go far in life: "Oh my heart watching Joseph. What an amazing little boy.Have no doubt with a personality like his, he will go far in life."

Joseph's letter was shared by last year's Queen of the Jungle Toff on Twitter as the star told followers that it 'gave her goosebumps'.

In the letter Joseph explained to Anne that he was diagnosed with autism when he was five and that sometime some people are mean to him because of his condition.

Joseph also praised Anne for going in the jungle because he couldn't do it as there are too many bugs for him.

He also added ended the letter by asking The Governess whether she likes Thunderbirds and drew her a picture of his favourite Thunderbird.

Hopefully the letter will make its way into the jungle and inspire Anne to keep going to be potentially crowned Queen of the Jungle.
