The trailer for spooky new sorority slasher film Black Christmas has arrived, and we're already quaking in our boots.
This is the second remake of the terrifying 1974 Bob Clark-fronted cult classic, which is to be directed by Sophie Takal and produced by Brumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.

Like the original film, the plot is based around a group of sorority students being stalked by a serial killer.
It shows their lives descend into chaos as they opt to stay on campus for their Christmas break rather than head home - a decision which leaves them in grave danger.
In the clip, we get our first glimpse of actresses Imogen Poots and Aleyse Shannon in character as Hawthorne College sorority girls as they attempt to take on the caped killer.

Cary Elwes is also seen in the role of a seriously creepy professor, while Brittany O'Grady, Aleyse Shannon, and Lily Donoghue also make appearances.
At the start, the students look like they're fully in the holiday spirit as they celebrate the festive season at a frat party.
However, when they realise their friend Helena is missing, the drama soon starts to unfold.

Naturally, the trailer then turns full on slasher movie on us, with unhelpful security guards failing to help the girls, terrifying phone calls from a mystery individual and of course, some murders along the way too.
One moment that left us shuddering was when the murderer takes Helena out with an icicle. You can't say the film hasn't stayed loyal to the festive theme!
And if you thought that was a spoiler, we should warn you, the trailer gives a *lot* away, so if you want to be left in suspense you might want to skip the second half!

The news of yet another a Black Christmas film got a mixed response, after the 2006 remake got poor reviews.
But after that terrifying trailer, we're sold.
Black Christmas (appropriately) hits cinemas on Friday 13 December.
