Christmas is right around the corner, and that can only mean one thing - the Harry Potter franchise will be on TV.

The adventures of the boy wizard, played by Daniel Radcliffe, were a must-see staple of our childhood - with Harry's time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry almost as rememberable as our own school days.

While we love all eight films equally, a group of Harry Potter fans have now voted on Ranker that the third movie in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is the best one of the lot.

The 2004 film, directed by Alfonso Cuaron, see Harry, Ron (played by Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) enter their third year of Hogwarts - with news that a notorious killer Sirius Black (played by Gary Oldman) has kept the fearful Azkaban Prison.

With the school being guarded by soul-sucking Dementors, and the news that Black has Harry in his sights, the infamous Boy Who Lived now faces more life-threatening peril as he digs his way to the bottom of another mystery.

The film may be best known for its final few scenes, in which Harry manages to finally cast a fully-formed Patronus Charm to defeat the hoards of Dementors.

However, it may also be remembered for the scene where Hermione punches school bully, Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) squarely in the face.

It was a tightly run-contest, however, with David Yates' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 coming in at second place.

The explosive final film in the franchise sees Harry face off against Lord Voldermort (Ralph Fiennes) as they're scrabbling to find the final few Horcruxes in an effort to destroy the Dark Lord.

Ironically, the film that received the least votes was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1, the first half of the final movie.

The film sets up for the explosive Battle of Hogwarts and see Harry and Ron come to blows over the intense struggle of searching for the Horcruxes.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which kicked off the franchise in 2001, only came in at fifth place.
