A new BBC documentary takes a deep dive into the UK's black market, looking at those who flood the country with fake designer gear.

Investigative reporter Livvy Haydock spent six months looking at the people involved in the UK's black market, as well as delving into the back alley sweatshops that are pumping out the counterfeit items.

The Beeb's latest documentary - Inside Britain's Black Market: Who's Selling Fake Stuff? - doesn't just focus on knock-off designer clothes and handbags either.

Viewers will hear interviews with those who are making and selling fake Xanax pills. Some of the fakes have killed members of the public in recent years.

Despite this, some of the street dealers are willing to sell to children as young as 14-years-old.

"I've never had a dealer say, 'I'm fine selling drugs to 14-year-olds' before. I'm shocked!" says Livvy following her meeting with one dealer.

The documentary also features those who have learnt to create drugs by watching tutorials online.

"The black market is where we go for our fake gear, but who is behind it all? Investigative reporter Livvy Haydock has spent the last six months investigating the people flooding the UK with fake clothes, bags and even pills," reads the BBC's official synopsis.

"During the course of her investigation Livvy meets a young importer of fake goods ready to sell on to buyers and markets around the country. She also investigates the back alley sweatshop clothes factories making the fakes right here in the UK."

BBC One

It continues: "Livvy also meets the people manufacturing and selling counterfeit Xanax pills, which hit the headlines recently with over 200 deaths in the UK since 2015 attributed to fake copies of the drug.

"It is legally available but only on private prescription, resulting in young customers turning to the black market for their fix.

"She meets dealers selling fake Xanax to 14-year-olds, as well as others who use customers as human guinea pigs to test whether their product is safe. With unique and unprecedented access to the people behind the black market, Livvy reveals who is behind our fakes."
