Great British Bake Off's dessert week kicked off on Tuesday night with two less contestants, as the tent moved on from Helena and Michelle's surprise double elimination.

The brutal episode sent shockwaves through the homes of Channel 4 viewers last week - but many eagle-eyed fans were touched to see that the contestants had clearly been affected by their departure too.

Spotting that Henry appeared to be wearing a spooky cobweb brooch over his apron, fans flocked to point out that the gesture was clearly a tribute to Halloween obsessed Helena.

During her time on GBBO, Helena consistently baked delights with a horror-theme, and spoke loudly and proudly about her love of all things ghostly.

'Henry wearing a cobweb brooch to honor our witch queen is everything,' one viewer wrote as they clocked the subtle gesture.

As another noted: "Henry's wearing helena's brooch.......gone but not forgotten, gotta stan him in her honour #GBBO".

"Has Henry been given a spiderweb brooch by Helena? Is he the new prince of darkness? Helena lives on #GBBO," a third chipped in.

As a fourth simply wrote: "I'm not crying, you are".

Upon closer inspection, fans will notice that it wasn't just Henry who donned a little spooky badge, as other contestants also followed suit, also sporting little Welsh flag badges in honour of Michelle as well.

Michael could be seen with a flag and a bat badge, while Alice could also be seen getting involved with similar apron accessories.

"Hang on I'm seeing bat badges and a cobweb... And Welsh flags! Silent protest! #GBBO," another viewer exclaimed.

SO. CUTE.

Meanwhile on the show, this week it was Priya who was sent packing, after failing to impress Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

The marketing consultant had been struggling in recent weeks, with many viewers claiming it was her time to go last week.

On her way out the tent, she said: "I've learnt so much, but of course I'll cry".
