Get ready some serious nostalgia: Netflix has finally blessed us with a teaser for The Baby-Sitters Club TV reboot.

Based on the popular teen novels by Ann M. Martin, published between 1986 and 2000, the updated TV series will be hitting Netflix on 3rd July.

In the mean time, we've just been given the first sneak peak at what's to come in the 10-part series.

The 39-second teaser opens with the camera panning to follow a phone chord that's hidden among a typical messy girls' bedroom, while the sound of a phone rings in the background.

"Every generation has a calling," read the words on the screen, as the scene shows typical pre-teen paraphernalia, from hairbrushes to sweets and mod-cons like mobile phones.

Finally, the camera reveals a retro clear phone and the five babysitters waiting excitedly as it chimes. Club president and founder of the Baby-Sitters Club, Kristy Thomas, picks up the phone and says: "Good afternoon, Baby-Sitters Club."

While it's only a short snippet, it hasn't stopped us from feeling ALL the nostalgia.

The show will follow friends Kristy, Claudia, Dawn, Stacey and Mary Anne, who set up a baby-sitting service for their friends and neighbours, while also having to deal with life issues.

The books, of which there were over 200, followed the group of girl teens as they dealt with issues like boys, parents divorce, illness and moving homes, all while running their babysitting business - so we're sure to get some similar storylines in the series.

Five up-and-coming actresses will play the lead roles. Club president Kristy Thomas, will be played by relative newcomer Sophie Grace, who has starred in Terror In The Woods (2018).

The 10-part series is set in Stoneybrook (

Vice president, Claudia Kishi, will be played by Momona Tamada, an actress best known for playing young Lara Jean in the To All The Boys I Loved Before trilogy.

Malia Baker will play club secretary Mary Anne Spier, Shay Rudolph will play treasurer Stacey McGill and Xochitl Gomez will take on the role of Dawn Schafer, who moves to Stoneybrook.

Chick-flick royalty Alicia Silverstone will be starring in the remake, but not as one of the babysitters, rather Kristy Thomas's mother, Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer. West Wing star Mark Feuerstein will be playing her love interest, Watson Brewer.

The remake is a modernised version of Ann M. Martin's books (

"The themes of The Baby-Sitters Club still resonate 30 years after the original book series was released, and there has never been a more opportune time to tell an aspirational story about empowering young female entrepreneurs," said Melissa Cobb, VP of kids and family content at Netflix.

"Together with Ann M. Martin and the team at Walden Media, our ambition is to contemporise [sic] the storylines and adventures of this iconic group of girlfriends to reflect modern-day issues."

There are over 200 Baby-Sitters Club books in total (
