Twitter is reeling.

In these testing times, we could do with an epic romance to get invested in - a story of star-crossed lovers to lift the mood.

Sadly, it's looking unlikely that we'll be getting that from dating show Five Guys A Week, whose couples have all, er, gone their separate ways.

The Channel 4 dating show - which sees a woman pick out a partner from a selection of five potential love matches who move into her house - has given us all the drama, from mass walkouts to cutting rivalry.

The first series came to an end in April 2020 - but sadly, it appears that none of the couples were destined to be last.

Amy Butterworth and Christian Sanderson have already split up.

The pair hooked up on the series and were filmed snogging like mad over a romantic dinner.

Amy, from St Albans, picked banker Christian as her beau, sending runner-up Glen, crooner Scott, stuntman Michael and surfer Trystan packing.

But the relationship was short lived.

Replying to an Insta-follower who was keen to know if the couple were still together, Christian said: "Hi, no unfortunately we're not."

Our hearts are crushed.

Similarly, Nina and Scott are no longer together.

The final and fifth episode of the series saw Nina choose sports nutrition distributor and model Scott out of the five guys.

But a matter of weeks later, the Channel 4 show confirmed on their official Twitter page that the pair were no longer an item, replying to a fan: "No wedding bells."

Rumours of the split were already in circulation, as Scott and Nina had not shared any pictures or videos on their Instagram pages, leading fans to conclude they had called it quits.

Yeesh, guys, we just want a cute couple to believe in, is that too much to ask?

Twitter users are suitably miffed.

"Kinda puts a black mark against Five Guys A Week when you discover that none of the couples are together anymore," said one disappointed viewer.

"None... not even one? :(" replied another.

"Haven't checked the girl from Sunderland last night but, yeah, none of the others are together :(" commented a third.

Many fans are hungry for a new episode segment where we get updates on the couples' progress.

"I wish they would give us an update after Five Guys A Week has aired on whether the couple has stayed together or not," begged one fan.

Channel 4 has responded, saying that they are looking into introducing this feature.

"Looking into doing that for series two," they wrote. "In truth all the couples have got along really well but no marriage proposals yet!"

Great news! Now all we need is for the romance to last, eh?
