Anyone who has seen the downright shocking documentary that is Abducted In Plain Sight is probably still reeling over the events that took place between the Broberg family and the Berchtold family in the 1970s.
The documentary follows the story of Jan Broberg who was kidnapped not once but twice by family friend Robert 'B' Berchtold.
It's quite astonishing how Jan manages to tell her story so candidly more than four decades after the heinous abuse took place, but what's even more surprising is the fact she has gone on to have a successful acting career and none of us ever realised.

As well as promoting the book that tells her story and helps other survivors of sexual abuse, Jan has also worked on some pretty huge films.
According to her IMDb page, she worked on Maniac with Elijah Wood, as well as Marvel's Iron Man 3. Jan also starred in horror film Haunt, alongside Jacki Weaver, Netflix's comedy Girlboss, Everwood with Emily VanCamp and most recently sitcom I'm Sorry.
Jan has spoken publicly about the horrendous abuse she suffered at the hands of B from the age of just 12-years-old, when he first abducted her. B brainwashed Jan into believing they must have a child together in order to save their families from an alien invasion.

"The mission was that I was to have a child that would save the alien planet by the time I turned 16," Jan explained.
When it came to making the documentary, it was reportedly Jan who played a key role in getting her family on board, as well as filmmaker Skye Bergman's all-female production team, who worked hard to gain the family's trust.

Jan's father, Bob, told the Telegraph: "Jan was ready to tell her story. She'd already published the book and been on the speaking circuit, trying to raise awareness of abuse, but this still wasn't a famous case at all."
