Abbie Quinnen has bravely showed off the life-altering scars she's been left with following a freak accident.

The 24-year-old dancer, who is dating fellow performer AJ Pritchard, appeared on ITV's Lorraine on Wednesday in a segment about body positivity with burns survivor Katie Piper.

You can watch the moving scene here:

Showing the scars on her shoulders and chest for the first time, Abbie explained the extensive treatments she's undergoing to help her skin recover, and even stripped down to a bikini - saying that it made her feel "free".

The freak accident happened six months ago, when YouTube tutorial on how to turn a wine bottle into a vase went terribly wrong for Abbie and boyfriend AJ.

The tutorial involved dipping a rope into a chemical, wrapping it around the bottle and lighting it.

Abbie said at the time: "I am sad I have been absent in the last few weeks & haven't posted much with AJ, we so desperately wanted to be able to share daily vlogs with you all but unfortunately I have had an accident," she wrote.

"Whilst we were attempting to create a glass bottle into a vase from following a YouTube tutorial, it went terrible wrong and it resulted in me incurring injuries [sic] & burns requiring continuous hospital treatment over the past 7 weeks."
