The documentary, Aaron Hernandez: An ID Murder Mystery, is being released as part of Quest Red's 'Killing Season' and will focus on the events that unfolded when Hernandez was in court for three murders that took place in 2012 and 2013.
It will also delve into the dramatic rise and fall of the New England Patriots star, who signed a five-year $40 million (£30.4 million) deal with the club in 2010.
Just three years in and he was convicted for the murder of his future brother-in-law, Odin Lloyd. During this time, he was also accused of the double murder of two Boston men that had taken place in 2012.
Hernandez was sentenced to serve life in prison without the chance of parole. In 2017, the footballer went on to commit suicide in his cell in Massachusetts.
The two-part special will air on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th February at 11pm on both evenings.
The channel's 'Killing Season' will also include two other chilling documentaries, including In Memoriam which tells the story of three mass shootings in America, which have taken place in the last three years.
The two-hour documentary, airing on Sunday 15th February at 11pm will include fist person interviews with both survivors and medical first responders on the scene.
A week later, on Sunday 22nd February, the third instalment of 'Killing Season' will air.
Charles Manson: The Final Words will retell and examine the brutal Manson murders that took place in the 1960s.
Using exclusive interviews and case files, it offers a never-before-seen glimpse into the shocking killings that have since gone down in history.
