A Christmas Prince is the embodiment of everything we want from a Christmas film.

Don't believe us? Watch the trailer for the latest instalment:

It's heartwarming, snow-filled, requires little concentration and offers generous amount of cheesiness - so you can imagine our joy when we learnt the royal saga is continuing.

In March, following two successful films, Netflix announced there was third movie in the festive rom-com franchise and that it would focus around a royal baby.

Sharing the news on Twitter, the streaming posted shared a picture of an ultrasound scan (with the foetus wearing a crown, of course), and wrote: "Baby Makes 3... A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby."

With just days to go until the flick lands on the streaming platform, we've done some digging to bring you everything we know about A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby so far.

When's it coming?

Soon! Netflix confirmed the film was landing on the streaming service on Thursday 5th December 2019. That's in days. MERE DAYS.

What were the first two films about?

A Christmas Prince (2017) saw young journalist and blogger Amber Moore (played by Rose McIver) fall for handsome Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) in the fictional nation of Aldovia.

When Amber is sent to the kingdom to get a scoop on the playboy prince, she gets more than she bargains for when they fall in love. But it's her job to keep up the lie.

The follow-up film, A Christmas Prince: A Royal Wedding (2018), sees the pair getting hitched in a romantic royal Christmas wedding, but not everything goes to plan.

It seems drama constantly follows the couple, as Richard finds himself in the midst of a political crisis, and Amber finds herself torn between her life as a blogger, her future as Queen and her desire to stay true to herself while following royal protocol such as wearing a questionable wedding dress and veil.

Amber even has to deal with royal staff telling her to shut down her blog... we wonder where they drew their inspiration for this one?

What will A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby be about?

So what to expect from the latest instalment?

Well, viewers will return to Aldovia and this time and a royal baby is on the way. However, the family is thrown in to disarray when Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom and priceless 600-year-old treaty vanishes into thin air.

The official Netflix description reads: "It's Christmastime in Aldovia - and a royal baby is on the way!

"Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom to renew an ancient truce, but when the priceless 600-year-old-treaty disappears, peace is put in jeopardy and an ancient curse threatens their family!"

Honestly, this sounds perfect in every way.

Is there a trailer?

Yes! In the first look trailer (which you can find at the top of this article), Amber and Richard are asked by the media about baby names - which they are not prepared to reveal just yet.

And it looks like they may not quite agree on how their unborn baby will grow up, with Amber suggesting she wants their child to have a 'normal' life, whilst Richard remarks "our child will be heir to the kingdom".

But that's not all they look set to have on their plate, with a potential ancient curse knocking at their door. It all looks very tense with Amber commenting she's not sure she's ready to be a queen as well as a mum.

Excited is an understatement!
