You Can Now Visit The Castle From A Christmas Prince

If you need us, we'll be in Romania living our our Christmas Prince fantasies, because we've just discovered you can actually visit the castle from the festive Netflix movie.

Yep, it turns out much of the film franchise - starring Rose McIver and Ben Lamb - were filmed in Peles Castle in Romania.

The castle acted as the fictional home for the Aldonian royal family in the movie.

And you can actually visit the grounds of the ancient building IRL, too.

Found in the woods in the Carpathian Mountains, Romania, in the town of Sinaia, the Neo-Renaissance castle is as stunningly romantic in real life as it is in the movies.

It was built in 1873, commissioned by Romania's King Carol I, as a summer home.

The property features everything from royal stables to gardens and statues. (Yes, they all featured in the films).

Plus, the castle also has 160 rooms - including a movie theatre, a weapons room and a concert hall - and astonishingly, each has its own theme and design.

You might well recognise the fortress from other movies, too, including including A Princess For Christmas, A Prince For Christmas, and Royal Matchmaker.

The castle was turned into a museum in 1953, but then closed down from 1975 to 1990.

Nowadays, it belongs to the former Romanian royal family once again. But you can still visit and book a guided tour.

The film also boasts some other rather impressive locations, including New York City's Riviera Cafe and Sports Bar - although this is now closed.

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree also features in the movie, too if you fancy jetting to the concrete jungle for a bit of Christmas Prince role play.

A Christmas Prince, follows young journalist and blogger, Amber, as she falls for handsome Prince Richard in the fictional nation of Aldovia.

In the sequel, we see the pair getting hitched in a romantic royal Christmas wedding, but not everything goes to plan.

Drama constantly seems to follow the couple, as Richard finds himself in the midst of a political crisis.

And Amber finds herself torn between her life as a journalist and blogger and her future as Queen, and her desire to be who she is while still following royal protocol such as wearing a questionable wedding dress and veil.

And in the third film in the series, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby Amber and Richard are expecting, and they battle with rather different ideas of how their baby will grow up.

We have to visit this castle and relive it all.
