Pixar movie Soul is getting a spin-off on Disney+ named 22 vs Earth, and it's going to delve into Soul 22's life before she met Joe.
In case you need a reminder, Disney's Soul followed Jamie Foxx's character Joe Gardner, whose soul got trapped in a mysterious in-between called The Great Before as he was trying to avoid death, after falling down a manhole cover.
And as he navigated this bizarre new atmosphere he came across another soul, named Soul 22 (voiced by Tina Fey) - someone who had never been able to find her 'spark' and thus wasn't able to move on to a life on earth.
We won't ruin the rest, but basically, "quick witted and sarcastic" Soul 22 becomes the main protagonist of the film, and is a key ally to Joe throughout.

So, you can bet Soul fans are going to be more than a little bit excited about the impending prequel spin-off, in which she's the star.
"While making 'Soul,' we talked about the why of a new soul not wanting to live on Earth, but it didn't ultimately belong in that movie," said Pixar veteran Kevin Nolting.
"22 vs Earth was a chance to explore some of the unanswered questions we had about why 22 was so cynical. As a fairly cynical person myself, it felt like perfect material."
In the short, mischievous 22 is set to get in all sorts of trouble as she unleashes hell on The Great Before, breaking rules at every corner.
Throughout the film, she refuses to go to Earth, even "enlisting a gang of five other new souls in her attempt at rebellion".

However, things don't all go to plan, and 22's revolt actually ends up leading to a surprising lesson about life and its meaning.
Classic Pixar, eh?
Soul is nominated for three awards at the Oscars this Sunday, including Best Animated Feature.
It also bagged Best Animated Feature earlier this month at the BAFTA film awards, alongside a Best Original Music gong.
"I think the new souls make the short so fun-the contrast of their pure innocence and delight with the cynical expectations of 22," Nolting added as he discussed the spin-off.

"The other new souls are what 22 once was before she took another path-purely innocent, blank slates to be guided by the counsellors in their mostly uneventful journey to the earth portal.
"22 sees an opening in that and attempts to guide them herself into her way of thinking."
22 vs Earth is available from 30 April on Disney Plus.
