People Are Questioning Why Andy Looks Different In The 'Toy Story 4' Trailer

Upon closer look, it might not be Andy at all.

The full official trailer for Toy Story 4 landed yesterday and there are already theories being spun about what the film will centre on and who the new characters are.

And the trailer shows what some have assumed is a flashback scene showing Andy with Jessie and Buzz.

But some fans have been quick to point out that Andy looks a little different this time round, asking whether Pixar had actually forgotten what Andy really looks like.

In Toy Story 3, we saw Andy grow up and go to college so some fans have suggested that this is in fact not Andy but his son.

Some have argued that it might perhaps just be that since the first film was released in 1995, CGI technology has just developed since then.

But one fan disagreed, saying: "Guys. Stop trying to sound smart by saying that this is purely an 'upgrade' because of better tech in 2019. Andy looked like himself in Toy Story 3 so this is just an unnecessary redesign.

"I'm actually a little sad cuz I have nostalgic feelings for Andy's design. That is not Andy."

However, some people aren't dismissing the theory that the boy shown in the trailer could be Andy's child.

One fan calculated that Andy must be 32 years of age now, so it could totally be his son.

But the official synopsis doesn't allude to that though.

"Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that's Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie's beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky , declares himself as 'trash' and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy," it says.

"But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family's road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep. After years of being on her own, Bo's adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realise they're worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that's the least of their worries."

We'll just have to wait for the film's release to find out more.

Toy Story 4 will be released in UK and US cinemas on 21st June.
