We've always thought Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel look scarily similar, and it seems we're not the only ones. In fact, the queen of pop herself seems to have realised this too, as she's cast the 40-year-old New Girl actress as a Perry look-alike in her new music video Not the End of the World.
The new single, from Katy's latest album Smile, follows Zooey as she's accidently abducted by some Katy Perry-obsessed aliens who, to be fair, can't even tell the two apart.
"No, no, no! Sorry. Misunderstanding. I'm Zooey," she says in the video after she's abducted by the aliens.
The aliens even give her brightly-coloured wigs and try to force her to reenact the California Gurls video until, eventually, she has to perform as Katy to save the earth.
Katy shared a video to Instagram explaining the pair filmed the video four months ago, saying: "I had this idea that Zooey would step in while I was taking a bit of a [maternity] leave...for so long we've had this funny relationship...people think we look alike," Perry said.
Zooey added: "I've had full conversations with people who've thought I was you."
Fans have been taking to Twitter to express their love for the new the video, and some can't even tell the two apart.
"I'm watching Katy Perry's new video and at one point I really thought Zooey was Katy, oh God," said one fan, with another adding: "LMAO I always thought you and Zooey were twins."

American singer Brandon Hilton added: "THIS IS SO ICONIC!!! I've been saying FOR YEARS that Zooey Deschanel is your twin!!! THIS WAS GENIUS!!!"
A fourth fan added: "Katy Perry using Zooey Deschanel in her music video while she's on maternity leave is genius."
