Westlife Announce Huge Comeback Album And Arena Tour Six Years After Split

After six long years and a lot of broken hearts, Westlife have officially confirmed they're making a comeback.

Fans will finally be put out of their misery as the Irish band reveal they've recorded a brand new album and will embark on a huge stadium and arena tour starting next year.

Shane Filan announced the band's comeback, explaining: "We genuinely missed each other and missed the buzz of performing on stage together to all our fans.

"We still have a lot that we want to achieve as a band and we want to bring our new music to fans all over the world."

Nicky Byrne added: "While we were away, we realised what Westlife really meant to the fans - and to us."

Six years after their split, Shane, Nicky, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan have signed a new deal with Universal, however there's no sign of a return from former bandmate Brian McFadden who left the band in 2004.

The reunion will come at a good time for the boyband as it marks 20 years since they originally formed.

Before splitting in 2012, Westlife had 14 UK number one singles, seven number one albums and sold 55 million records worldwide.

It's clear the boyband's fan base is still going strong six years later as their final show for 82,300 fans at Dublin's Croke Park stadium selling out in just four minutes.

Revealing what he was most excited about with regards to the reunion, Kian said: "This time around our children will get to enjoy Westlife and see their daddies on stage."

Ed Sheeran previously revealed how he'd written a song for the boyband, which is expected to be released this year as they kickstart their comeback.

Mark said: "It felt so great to be back in the studio together and hanging out with each other again. It just felt right.

"We're fresh, ready and so excited for this new next chapter of Westlife."
