It's the news nobody knew we wanted, yet now everyone is seriously excited for: the Sugababes are back.

You're probably wondering which Sugababes are involved, given that the band has consisted of so many different faces over the years.

Well, we can confirm that this is the first ever line up, featuring the three original Sugababes, Siobhán Donaghy, 35, Mutya Buena, 34, and Keisha Buchanan, 35 (we argue the best line up too).

The OGs were filming on Graham Norton earlier this week, performing a new song, a collaboration that appears on DJ Spoony's album, which will be shown tonight on BBC One.

Their role in the cover of Sweet Female Attitude's 'Flowers' comes 19 years after they found fame with the release of their debut single 'Overload'.

Good grief we feel old.

We're however, not sure if anyone should have ever covered 'Flowers', given that it's one of the most-loved garage songs, but if anyone can do it justice it'll be these three.

The girls although officially reuniting for the track under the Sugababes, also recorded a single back in 2013, 'Flatline,' which they released under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan (catchy). That was because the trio had lost the rights to the band's name, due to the amount of radical changes to the group over the years.

The name now appears to be back where it belongs, in the hands of the OGs.

And although they haven't confirmed they're officially back on the scene for good, we think this is likely a sign of more to come from the girls, returning to do what they do best, with the people they do it best with.

Band member Mutya Buena was clearly excited about the trio's involvement with DJ Spoony's new track, announcing the single's release on Instagram.

One Twitter user talking about the new song said: "To anyone in my office who doesn't like #sugababes well you're about to get real mad because this is on repeat today."

"Now the original line up is back, they've covered Flowers and I'm a woman approaching middle age and I won't lie, I'm actually crying because the HARMONIES".

Another Twitter user was beside herself with joy: "I've been saying it for bloody YEARS. This is one of the best pop albums there is.

Welcome back girls!
