Lewis Capaldi is kicking off YouTube's brand new original series, Birthday Song - and if the trailer res anything to go by, it's one to add to the watch list.

The premise is this: a huge stars finds out what song was number one on the day they were born and cameras follow them as they plan their over of the song, all while chronicling their rise to fame, interviewing the people closest to them.

In the 23-year-old Scot's case, 'Setting Sun' by The Chemical Brothers and Noel Gallagher was number one in the UK on his birth day, 7th October 1996.

"Lewis discovers the song he was born to sing," says YouTube of the series' debut star.

"Follow him through the process of fashioning his own unique version of his birthday song and learn about how he became the person he is today: a lyricist, a singer, a performer, a jokester and natural-born attention seeker- a story told by the people closest to him."

A trailer for the upcoming series - launching on the video-sharing platform on 24th March - has been dropped by YouTube, and it's jam-packed with all the realness we've come to expect from Capaldi.

In it, he cites his older brother Warren Capaldi as one of his main musical influencers (with his brother joking "I should be getting a cut of his royalties") and makes a direct plea to Noel Gallagher - "If I f*ck your song up, I'm sorry."

It'll also feature a ton of never-before-seen footage and photos of Lewis as a youngster.

"YouTube was a huge part of where it all started for me, was absolutely class to get to be asked to record a version of 'Setting Sun' by The Chemical Brothers for my Birthday Song," Capaldi said in a statement.

"I hope everyone doesn't absolutely hate my version and if you do please don't tell me in the comments, my mum reads them."

Lewis, we could not love you any more.
