Marie Kondo is bringing the KonMari method to Netflix just in time to jumpstart your new year's resolutions and and get rid of the Christmas clutter that you don't need. On Tuesday, January 1st 2019 eight episodes of Tidying Up With Marie Kondo will be available to stream. And if you're a fan of Instagram cleaning personality Mrs Hinch and her Hinch Army, you're going to be obsessed.
In the show Marie Kondo guides people who are at a crossroads, but willing to tackle the clutter holding them back to spark joy in their homes and transform their lives in emotional and surprising ways.
The trailer, which dropped yesterday shows some of the emotional situations and cluttered environments the tidying guru will be tasked with transforming. A couple needs to clear out possessions from their past to pave the way for their baby's future, a family has to downsize their home (and the amount of stuff they can fit in it), a widow wants to let go of her husband's things but not his memory and a young couple need to leave college-style living behind.
Who is Marie Kondo?
Organising consultant's Marie Kondo started out as a "tidying coach," helping Japanese executives organise their homes. She quickly had a six-month waiting list so, she wrote a book: The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up teaching people the KonMari Method instead that became a runaway bestseller and sold over 11 million copies worldwide.
She's even garnered a cultlike following - they call themselves 'Konverts' and proudly share before-and-after photos of their properly folded sock drawers and emptied closets.
