You Can Now Get A Monopoly For Sore Losers

If you've got a sore loser in your family, we have the perfect board game for your Christmas Day.

Monopoly has released a 'sore loser' version of its iconic game and it's perfect for those who throw a strop when they're not winning.

Available at Argos for £18, the Monopoly for Sore Losers board game has a sneaky twist on the usual classic.

While the aim of the game in Monopoly is usually to buy property and avoid going to jail or paying extortionate rents, the sore loser version actually celebrates losing instead.

In this version, players earn money by doing things such as going to jail (where you'll earn Sore Loser coins), going bankrupt or paying taxes.

And once you collect four Sore Loser coins, you can actually cash them in for the Mr Monopoly token which allows the player to "stomp" around the board collecting money instead of paying rent.

Monopoly explain: "Oh, the thrill of revenge! With this hilarious edition of the Monopoly board game, the annoying things like paying rent or going to Jail actually help players get ahead.

"And those who really start sinking can make a comeback using the large Mr. Monopoly token that gives players advantages over everyone else.

"We've all been there and felt the pain, but now it's actually fun! Chance cards and Community Chest cards create and celebrate sore losers."

The game is so much fun, it's even featured in the top 12 of the Toy Retailers Association's DreamToys list, which reveals the most sought after Christmas presents each year.

And it's already had some pretty impressive reviews, with one person writing: "Fun new twist on traditional game! Game winner can change in an instant and the results are always close! Super fun, especially for all us sore losers!"

Monopoly has also launched a Sore Losers Small Claims Fund, offering the chance for sore losers to apply for a cash reimbursement for any previous Monopoly misdemeanours.

To apply, you simply text SORE LOSER to 80800 and follow the instructions for your chance to claim. Successful applicants will receive a £20 cheque and a copy of the new Monopoly For Sore Losers game to avoid any future fall-outs.

Those eligible for making a claim must have exhibited (or been privy to!) a false accusation, a meltdown, "unsporting" behaviour, infringement of the rules, or the dreaded "board flip".
