Stuck for a Halloween costume? In the novelty mascot business and want to take an innovative new idea to your boss? Or perhaps you simply fancy dressing up as a giant inflatable lobster/unicorn/avocado for absolutely no reason at all?

Either way, one company is making this all possible, making wearable balloon outfits in a variety of characters, from elephants to toucans and tikis to skulls.

Using hundreds of tiny balloon's Carolynn Hayman's business POP! Design Creations brings a wealth of fun characters to life.

The 55-year-old's innovative business sees as few as 200 inflatables used on each amazing character, ranging up to 800 balloon used from the multi-coloured unicorn 'Conrad'.

Other characters include a Hawaiian tiki, angry eagle, pink elephant and Mexican piñata and Day of The Dead skull (ideal for Halloween!)

Each design takes hours to create - but would you just look at the results?

Carolynn, from Michigan, USA, said: "Balloon costumes are such an exciting art form because they don't need any explanation.

"They get a huge reaction from people and make them happy.

"Many people want to hug the costumes or dance with them.

"In the Conrad costume, many people wonder if there is someone inside.

"My very first original costume was a lobster, and that is also a favourite."

Before Pop! was conceived, Carolynn made a successful career for herself as a professional balloon twister, having twisted her first three-ballon hat in 2006.

Carolynn honed her craft tending multiple balloon events and conventions, including Twist & Shout, World Balloon Convention, and TJam on the Road.

The idea for her business first happened after getting snowed in at a convention and being asked to wear a costume made by her mentor.

"The interest in balloon costumes is growing all the time.

"We have grown from a few people making costumes to many more and a large group of members.

"I hope to help bring more and more creative balloon costumes to life!"

POP! Design Creations are currently only available in the US, but we're praying Carolynn has the sense to start them up over here soon.

These would win you major points at niece or nephew's next birthday party, don't you think?

Just make sure you remove all sequinned clothing/un-filed nails/cacti from the vicinity beforehand.
