Cooking your Christmas roast has never been so scary…

We've all had our fair share of kitchen horrors when cooking our Christmas dinner, but we can honestly say nothing has been as scary as Crissy Rock's turkey dinner.

The Liverpudlian actress caused chaos on last night's edition of Celebrity Masterchef, as she was invited back to the tent to compete in a festive special of the show.

She faced off against Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood, Made In Chelsea's Spencer Matthews and presenter Amar Latif - and made a meal when cooking the turkey.

As part of her two-course meal for judges John Terode and Greg Wallace, 62-year-old Crissy whipped up roast beef stuffed with red peppers and cheese, with horseradish mash.

Sounds delicious - but Crissy decided to liven up her plate by serving a roast turkey leg put in a box, decorated with a small felt beak and googly eyes to boot.

You can see the horror here:

Dubbed 'Turkey George', the judges couldn't help but laugh at their surprise dinner guest - but viewers watching at home were more scared than amused.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "I, for one, welcome our new turkey overlord."

Another joked: "Brb, writing a horror film about Turkey George."

A third said: " Haha what are you like, Turkey George. I loved it and you're looking fab. Hope to catch up in '21? It's been a while ."

While a fourth wrote: "I love Turkey George, he's a hoot!"

Turkey George notwithstanding, the judges praised Crissy for her "perfectly pink" beef, but added that her side dishes had rather let her down.

Unfortunately for Crissy, she lost out to Craig to be crowned winner of this heat, with Craig thrilled to have taken the top prize 13 years after he first competed on the show.

He now joins Monday night's champion Janet Street Porter as MasterChef's first Christmas winners.

Merry Christmas everyone! Except, perhaps, to Turkey George.
