The Weasley Kids Just Reunited And Our Hearts Are So Full

The Weasley Kids Just Reunited And Our Hearts Are So Full

Alert! The Weasley family just reunited (virtually, of course) and our hearts can't take it!

Earlier this week, Bonnie Wright (who played Ginny Weasley) joined her fictional twin brothers, James and Oliver Phelps (aka Fred and George Weasley) on their podcast, 'Double Trouble'.

Introducing Bonnie to their podcast, James and Oliver, 33, explained they'd known Bonnie, 29, for almost two decades, joking that it was good to have a brother-sister zoom call during lockdown.

"We're sure a lot of people around the world are keeping up with long lost family," they quipped.

The three took the opportunity to discuss all things Harry Potter, recalling the moment they all met while shooting the King's Cross Station scene.

"I remember it was so cold, I had a hot water bottle under my costume," said Ginny.

"I'd never been on a film set or knew anything [...] I remember [Julie Walters] just being like, I've got you under my wing and I just felt so much safer."

Bonnie also explained how she bagged the part of Ginny, having never acted before.

"My brother had read the first two books and he said 'oh you really remind me of a character called Ginny' you should audition for it," she explained.

"I'd never been for an audition or even wanted to be an actor. My mum came home from work and my brother and I were like, how can we figure this out.

"My mum had like no idea so she rang Bloomsbury the publishers, and then they passed her the number for the casting director and then my mum called them and they were like 'yeah sure, just send a few photos of Bonnie and ask her to write a sentence of why she wants to be in the film and who she wants to play'.

"So I did that and went from one audition with the casting director and then quite a while later got called back and I went and met with Chris Columbus."

The twins also explained they only met Ginny around half an hour before they started filming on the platform.

As well as all things Potter, they also discussed what the trio had been up to since, with Bonnie also talking about her important environmental work in Guatemala.

You can watch the full podcast episode over on the twins' YouTube channel.

It's not the only exciting Weasley news this week. Just yesterday, Ron Weasley actor Rupert Grint and his girlfriend Georgia Groome announced they had welcomed their first child - a little girl!

A short but sweet statement from the couple said: "Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time."

What a week for Weasley fans! It's certainly brightened our lockdown.
