A year stuck indoors meant we turned to our TVs to keep us entertained, and one of our lockdown highlights was Married At First Sight: Australia.
A far raunchier and more Love Island-style show compared to our own iteration of Married At First Sight, the sixth season of the Australian edition became hugely popular earlier this year after it dropped on E4.
Not only did it feature the now legendary Jessika Power who unceremoniously ditched Mick Gould for Dan Webb, it also made a villain out of Sam Ball, who quickly became unpopular with viewers due to his lack of effort and repeated jibes at his wife Lizzie Sobinoff.

It was his cheating with Ines Basic, which saw the pair spend the night together at a hotel room in the Gold Coast, which left viewers truly shocked.
But Sam has had a few surprises up his sleeve for us MAFS fans since the cameras stopped rolling.
Not only has he denied cheating on Lizzie (he insisted the storyline was whipped up by producers), Sam has since revealed he struggled with his mental health and appearance when he was younger.

Taking to Instagram, the 28-year-old shared a picture of himself from when he was at a bad place, split with an image of him now.
"I remember jumping out of the shower that night.. seeing myself and thinking what the f***?" he captioned the first picture.
"I had lost my sense of self and ended up somewhere far far away from 'the real me.' I was literally focused on nothing but strength and lifting weights not fast or functional within my training and just not living a good healthy life.
"I was very bored and it was having a detrimental effect on my body and mind eating anything in sight, going out and drinking anything to make me feel good."
He continued: "Looking back I was not happy with myself and honestly just letting life slip away. To all of my close friends it was obvious I was not being the true version of myself at all on a path of destruction that I had created for myself far away from the man I was."

Sam then said he was much happier in the new photos.
"Waking up daily loving life, confident with who I am and know exactly what I want and where I'm going.

"No hectic diets or coaches just got my s*** sorted and started being myself again, went back to the training I love, doing things I love that I enjoy and started focusing on myself and my goals not everyone else's around me.
"Therefore I took control of my life and the s*** direction it was heading."
By posting the before and after pics, Sam said he was hoping that his Insta post would be a comfort to others who may be struggling.
"I hope this can help at least one person that reads this that is lost or down about where they are today.. right now just know you are the only person that can change YOUR position with YOUR work ethic and mental focus," he said.

"It may be financially.. maybe physically? Or you just aren't happy at all. Don't stress.
"Get rid of the negative bull**** around you, start saying no to things you don't want to do because you don't owe anyone anything at the end of the day. It's your happiness and it shouldn't be taken away from you.
"We hear it all the time but do what makes you happy, it's your life."
Have we totally misjudged Sam after all this time?
