Stacey Solomon has hit back at those who have criticised natural body hair on women.

The 31-year-old, who has become a bit of a national treasure due to her candour on social media, said she was shocked when trolls criticised hair on her arms on Instagram.

She added that boyfriend of five years Joe Swash was a fan of her more authentic look.

"I actually don't see hairy anything on women these days," she told Fabulous Magazine. "So when people are seeing a tiny bit of hair they're like: 'What the hell? She's a monster!'

The Loose Women panellist continued that while her friends believed pubic hair was "dirty" when she was a teenager, she believed she looked like a child if it was all removed.

"What man is going to be attracted to a noonie that looks like a baby's?" she said bluntly. "In the '70s it was all about the bush, wasn't it? What changed?

"Luckily, Joe loves the bush, so that's okay!"

And it would seem that Stacey is not the only one embracing her body hair.

New research has shown that up to 45 per cent of women are no longer buying hair removal products such as razors or wax strips.

Mum-of-three Stacey has always been an Instagram favourite, posting natural, unfiltered photos of herself on the app and reminding her followers how every body is different and still beautiful.

But that hasn't stopped her being on the receiving end of criticism, with the former X Factor contestant being trolled earlier this month when she revealed she shared a bed with her children.

Sharing a screenshot of the jibes, Stacey wrote: "I thought I'd end the day the way I started..."

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

She signed off telling fans: "Don't give your consent. Do what works for you UNAPOLOGETICALLY. Always".
