Stacey Solomon came to fiery blows with fellow Loose Women panelist Janet Street Porter on Wednesday, after Janet revealed she was against homeschooling.

Janet argued that attending school helps shape children into becoming well rounded people, however Stacey defended her decision to homeschool sons Zachary, 11, and Leighton, six.

Stacey, who recently revealed she's expecting her third child, admitted she, her mum and a tutor all take it in turn homeschooling her sons as they follow the school curriculum. The 29-year-old added that her sons are welcome to join re-join the education system whenever they want.

However, Janet said that in order for the education system to improve, parents must get 100 per cent behind it.

"One of the great things about school was saying a teacher was horrible and you had all your little likes and dislikes and I read my old school reports and I hated some of those teachers," Janet explained. "But after that experience, I did become, I believe, a more rounder person."

Stacey continued to defend her decision, saying: "Listen, you can only do what you think is right at the time. I think if you've considering having a children and you think 'I loved school' and I still love the school system and I'm so proud to love in a country where you have a free education and a right to it. I think it's so important.

"My children, my eldest especially, were not doing well in the school system and I had a choice to make and it was either leave them there because I truly believe in the school system and I want to get behind it or put them in a different situation and see if it works better and I think that's all you can do as a parent really."

Christine Lampard also weighed in on the debate, as she defended Stacey, telling her: "They are incredibly well-rounded, intelligent boys with great personalities. What I'm trying to say is, you're doing something right."
