Sarah Jessica Parker has just teased the revival of ultimate style icon Carrie Bradshaw. The actress shared an Instagram video on Sunday of her Sex and the City character strutting up the streets of Manhattan in lace sock heels with a turquoise tulle skirt swishing around her ankles paired with a purple beaded bag and a shimmery gold blouse.

And in the caption, Sarah announced: "My old friend. She is making a brief reappearance. Partnering with a great brand and supporting a cause we all care about. More to come. X, SJ."

The short video, which has over a million views and plays the classic SATC theme tune in the background, ended with the hashtag #PourItForward - it looks like Sarah is reviving the character for a charitable cause.

It's highly unlikely that a third SATC movie will ever happen due to the on-going saga between Sarah and her co-star Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones in the HBO series and two flicks.

This presumably means that fans will be pretty stoked to see Carrie back on their screen once again, no matter how brief (or the fact that Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha aren't with her).

Followers and celeb fans expressed their delight at the revival announcement. "Omg omg omg," exclaimed Katherine Schwarzenegger, while a SATC fan posted: "Can we all just pray this is not a joke!!! And can I please have that entire outfit!"

If a third Sex and the City movie had gone ahead, we do have some kind of insight into what the storyline would have centred on - something that was apparently the reason why Kim didn't want to be involved.

In November 2017, some of the cast chatted on James Andrew Miller's podcast Origins and revealed that Carrie's husband, charming and complicated Mr Big (Chris Noth), would have died.

Apparently, the entire plot revolved around Big's untimely death and how Carrie would come to terms with losing the love of her life.

And the idea of a film that revolved around Carrie and her grief did not appeal to Kim, who decided she didn't want to sign up for another movie making it impossible to proceed.

Whatever this new revival is for, consider us excited.
