The pair will tie the knot next year after getting engaged while away on holiday in Italy earlier this month.

Beatrice's parents - Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson - and sister Princess Eugenie all separately gushed over Edo and Beatrice's news on their social media accounts, sharing their well wishes for the loved up couple.

Posting a beaming picture of her sister sporting her dazzling diamond engagement ring, The Queen's grand-daughter Princess Eugenie wrote: "Beabea - wow! I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be."

Meanwhile, Beatrice's mother, Sarah Ferguson told her followers she had cried "tears of joy" at the "sensational news".

Sharing her own tribute - a string of stunning black and white professional snaps of her and Edo - the Duchess added a quote from the photographer Misan Harriman, which read: "Everything clicks when they are together and that's exactly what my lens captured. It was an honour to observe and document such love."

In a joint message, The Duke and Duchess Of York proudly added: "We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride.

"We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future."

Edoardo's parents Nikki Williams-Ellis and Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi chipped in: "We are truly delighted about Edoardo and Beatrice's engagement. Our family has known Beatrice for most of her life.

"Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship."

This is the fourth royal wedding in recent years. Beatrice is following in the footsteps of her younger sister Eugenie, who married Jack Brooksbank on October 12 last year at at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle - the same place that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed.

Prince and Princess Michael of Kent's daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor also wed Tom Kingston earlier this year.

While Eugenie televised her nuptials, and invited 800 people, it is still currently unknown how Beatrice will choose to do the same.

Beatrice started dating Edoardo back in September last year, a month before Princess Eugenie's wedding.

It comes after she ended her 10 year relationship to American Uber exec Dave Clark in 2016.

Edo, who has a son from a previous relationship, was previously engaged to partner Dara Huang for three-and-a-half years, but they split up not long before he met Beatrice.

Congratulations to them both!
