One of the most hilarious viral clips ever has to be Little Mix's Jesy Nelson attempting a Jamaican accent and for some reason, saying something that sounded "balegdah" instead.

Now the viral meme has inspired fans of the singer to say she should play Sebastian the crab in the upcoming The Little Mermaid live-action remake.

The joke all started with Twitter user Spilling_The_T, who tweeted a video of Jesy attempting the accent, writing: "Congratulations to Jesy from Little Mix who has been cast as the Jamaican crab Sebastian in The Little Mermaid".

The tweet soon garnered over 150,000 likes, with fans reminiscing about the moment. One wrote: "what was she even tryna say... it still haunts me to this day" while another said: "I'm pretty sure she was just saying "balegdah" which means absolutely nothing lmao".

Another joked: "This meme will never die will it?" While another pondered "I literally can't believe this exists like what the f*ck is that sound this had to have been a glitch in the universe."

Other Twitter users also thought Jesy would make the perfect crab, with several others posting the video alongside messages such as "Cast Jesy Nelson as Sebastian the crab, you cowards".

Jesy has been teased mercilessly ever since she first attempted the accent, but she's since explained that it's a big misunderstanding - and one that she finds seriously annoying.

The singer previoustold the Huffington Post that the noise she made was something like "bardegne", which is something the band say when they're feeling confused.

She explained: "The fan edited it as though it was my Jamaican accent, I actually do a Jamaican accent! That's not even a Jamaican accent, they just cut off my accent and said that was my Jamaican accent."

What can we say - we think Jesy would make a great Sebastian.
