Former One Direction star Liam Payne has broken off his engagement to model Maya Henry, revealing that he is now single.
The 28-year-old singer confirmed the sad news over on the Diary of a CEO podcast, where he spoke to host Steven Bartlett about the split.
In the episode, Liam announced that he felt this outcome was the best for both of them, and that the former couple could now spend time focusing on themselves instead.
He said: "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people.

"That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point.
"I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else."
He also spoke out on how he was trying to work on becoming a better person, adding: "That's where I got to in my last relationship. I just wasn't giving a very good version of me anymore, that I didn't appreciate and I didn't like being. I can honestly say I feel better out of it.
"I didn't feel good doing what I did but it had to happen. Just a corny way to say it was the best for us both."

But Liam gave a positive spin on the sad break-up, saying that he already felt much better for being single again.
He said: "I know I was the problem and I have to sort myself out. I already feel good. It's got me more concentrated and I hope she's happy."
Liam and 21-year-old Maya confirmed their engagement in August 2020, revealing the news to Good Morning America at the time.

The couple got together in August 2018, shortly after Liam's split from Cheryl, with whom he shares a four-year-old son, Bear.
