Cast your mind back to the summer of 2019 - the sun was shining, coronavirus was unheard of, and Love Island was the nation's obsession.

Season 5 of the hit ITV2 dating show saw Love Island have some of its highest viewing figures to date, as we became hooked on the drama in the villa.

While boxer Tommy Fury and influencer Molly-Mae Hague were one of the few couples who made things #official in the villa, they ultimately lost the viewer vote to Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea, who split the £50,000 prize money before breaking up a few months later.

We've always been OG Molly-Mae fans, but during her time on Love Island, many accused the star of not being genuine, alleging that she was only with Tommy for the money.

And now, the 21-year-old has decided to address the accusations directly in a hilarious TikTok video.

Sharing a video of her applying her make-up, Molly-Mae quoted her haters, saying: "That Molly-Mae is so fake, she's only on Love Island with Tommy for the money."

She then turned to the camera, as dramatic music plays.

"How's that going for you?" she said. "Hmm? How's that one going for you?"

It's true that Molly-Mae and Tommy have proven the haters wrong. Nearly two years on since they left the villa, the pair are still happily going strong, sharing a flat together in Manchester.

They are the only couple still together from their series, and regularly post loved-up pictures of one another on Instagram.

More recently, Molly-Mae has decided to ditch her fillers and veneers, and opt for a more natural look.

She has since called the amount of cosmetic procedures she had when she was younger was a "mistake".

"I think I've taken all the steps I want to take now in terms of reversing all the mistakes I made with the fillers, getting things done that I didn't necessarily need to get done and that I didn't really think through at the time - about two or three years ago now," she said.

"I think when you get older, you want to look younger and when you're younger, you want to look older.

"Take my advice and just wait. Wait a good few years until your face has matured, until you get a little bit older and then make decisions about cosmetic work and stuff.

"Please don't make the same mistakes I did."
