Mark Ronson announced that he is sapiosexual during an interview with Good Morning Britain yesterday (Thursday, 20th September).
Elaborating on his declaration during his appearance on the morning stalwart, the Oscar-winner told presenters Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway that he didn't know there was a word for how he identified until he had a debate with the show's producers.
The hosting duo asked, "Now that we know that you're single, you are identifying as a man who likes intellect?"
"Yeah, I didn't know that there was a word for it," the Late Night Feelings hitmaker, who split from French model Joséphine De La Baume split in 2017 after six years of marriage, said.
"We were all arguing backstage in the dressing room with a couple of your producers.
"And yes, I feel like I identify as sapiosexual."
But what does it mean to be sapiosexual you ask?
According to Psychology Today, a sapiosexual person is "someone who finds intelligence and the human mind to be the most sexually attractive feature for a potential sexual relationship".
"The origin of the word comes from the term 'sapiens,' which means wise or judicious, as well as the word 'sexual.'"
In essence, sapiosexuals value the "meeting of minds" more than physical attraction.
The award-winning music producer's admission comes after he split Saturday Night Live talent executive Rebecca Schwartz, who attended the Oscars with him, earlier this year.
In March, the musician, 44, confirmed in the WSJ's Men's Style Issue that he had found love again and shared: "Yeah, I am in a relationship. It's good. I'm dating a nice girl."
However, the couple split soon after he won the Oscar for Best Song for his part in producing hit Shallow from the feature A Star Is Born.
Mark was previously married to French model Joséphine De La Baume for six years before they split in 2017. Their divorce was finalised in 2018.
