Luke Trotman has become a firm favourite in this winter's Love Island, adored for his cheeky grin and friendly nature, so it comes as no surprise he's always been a cutie.

Footage has unearthed of the semi-pro footballer and student as a young boy as he supported his mum on X Factor - and he hasn't changed a bit.

Luke's mum, Beverley Trotman, came sixth in the 2007 series of the TV talent show, losing out to winner Leon Jackson.

Making it to live shows, camera crews followed Beverley home as she visited her husband Jonathan, daughter Tianna and a young Luke.

In the full clip, Luke - who would have been eight or nine - looks ecstatic to see his mum at the front door, and later, he can be seen cuddling into her.

Clearly missing her since she moved into the X Factor house, Luke says: "I really love her and I'm really proud of her."

All together now: n'aaaaaw!

Flash-forward 13 years and Luke T has recently bagged himself a girlfriend in Siannise Fudge on the hit ITV dating show.

In scenes that aired last week, the 22-year-old posed the question after recruiting his fellow Islanders to help him pull off a touching fairytale quest for the Disney-obsessed beauty consultant.

The couple have proved to be favourites on the show after hitting it off the Luke arrived in the villa as a latecomer. And no one is a bigger fan than Luke T's mum.

In a clip that circulated online, Beverley could be seen squealing with happiness as her son returned from Casa Amor solo to reunite with Siannise.

And we're sure mummy T will be tuning in tonight (at the later time of 10pm) to watch her son on screen, as five couples are all 'vulnerable' of being dumped from the villa, after islanders voted for the least compatible couples at the end of last night's instalment.

But don't worry Bev, we've got a feeling Luke will be alright.

Love Island continues tonight at 10pm.
