Louis Tomlinson has spoken out for the first time since the death of his sister, Félicité Tomlinson.

The former One Direction star took to Twitter to thank fans for their love and support through what is understandably a heartbreaking time.

"Just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely words over the past couple of weeks," he wrote. "Back in the studio today to vocal something I wrote a few months ago."

Louis continued: "Sending you all loads of love."

The message comes just weeks after 18-year-old Félicité passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. Her death tragically came two years after Louis' mum, Johannah Deakin, passed away from Leukemia, leaving behind seven children.

Louis' fans rushed to respond to the tweet with more messages of support, with one person commenting: "Love you so much, can't wait to hear what you've been working on!"

Another added: "We are so proud of you Louis!"

News of Félicité's death was confirmed by Metropolitan Police last month, with a spokesperson saying: "Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 12.52pm on Wednesday, March 13 to a residential address in SW5 following reports of a female in cardiac arrest.

"At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. Enquiries continue."
